800's 260 mm rear discs?

Perhaps someone here will know just how does the caliper and carrier clear the 260 mm disc?



Reason for the odd question is that the MGF has the same rear caliper and carrier yet only 240 mm dia discs and I am wanting to fir the larger 260 mm discs to my MGF VVC. Will have to pull a rear wheel off to have a look but from memory there does not seem to be room for the larger diameter discs which makes little sense when the carrier and caliper are the same.
