Carpets!

Apparently, even when new, the carpet Velcro fixing under the door sills was a complete waste of time and on entering the vehicle the carpet just pulls away to reveal the carpet edge. I have a 2002 TF that looks a right mess under both doors! I have tried various glues but can't solve the problem yet. HAS ANYONE solved the problem of getting the carpet to stay in place? .......
