Changing an exhaust
Evening All,
I've been asked if I can lend a hand to someone who is after removing their standard mild steel exhaust and replace it with a second hand stainless steel cat-back system which was originally fitted to another 180. This is one particular area I haven't covered on car maintenance so before I go in and do it blind I was just wondering what's involved?
I know bolts are likely to be seized, but do the sections of the exhaust slide in together or are they just assembled and butted together with gaskets? Once the bolts and studs are out do they just slide apart or need to be tapped with a hammer? Any other hints and tips worth mentioning?
Thanks,
Anthony.
