MG ZS 120+ Won't Turn Over
Hi guys
first time I have posted I think, but so far reading through other posts there has been alot of help provided, so many thanks thus far.
Now on to my issue. Back in December i took on the task of changing my HG. As the weather became worse, the job was abandoned (no garage to work in) with only half the job done. Yesterday (some 3 months later) i got back to finishing the job which was only putting the inlet manifold back on and cleaning up the sensors and other plugs that had been disconnected before re-connection and checking belts were on properly. Battery was completely dead, so after a full nights charging, battery reconnected this morning, immobilizer and alarm took a bit to sort out, but disengaged at the fob. Turned the key to full ignition state and heard the fuel pump prime, all lights coming on as they should on the dash, turn the key to turn the engine over and nothing!!
I can here clicking coming from the relay when turning the key to start the engine but after that nothing else. I had also noticed a clicking coming from the inlet manifold, no regular pattern to the clicking. It was intermittent and did stop after a few seconds. I have checked regular earthing points, the one at the battery is due to be replaced because i can see corrosion, but is still connected for now (could this be an issue?).
I am not mechanic, but am confident I have followed everything from the haynes manual and guides on here and other forums, but this is now baffling me, any ideas or help people can offer will be gratefully received.
Many thanks
