MG3 Owners opinions please

Hi All,

Seriously thinking of getting an MG3, never had a new car before! I would just like to hear from owners what the cars are like, what are they like to own etc. Now I know they are likely to depreciate but the plan would be to keep it forever. Currently we are running 2 cars, an MGF Wedgewood SE & a ZS180. Both of these would be sold & we would share the MG3. I also have 2 x Triumph Heralds so one of these can be used if we both need a car at the same time. I have heard people say that the MG3 is underpowered but is it really? What is the revving issue between 1st & 2nd gear? Is it really a problem? Whats the fuel economy like on the motorway at a steady 65 - 70mph and whats it like round town?

Basically is it a good buy? I don't really want to even look at any other makes, all my cars are British & I like it that way....
