Flat tyre - sidewall damage
This is the closest subforum I could see. Apologies if it's in the wrong subforum.
Flat in the middle of busy road. Drove about half a mile before changing the tyre. Took the tyre to the shop next day. Was told that the sidewall is extensively damaged so tyre will need replacing.
Keep in mind, I have nothing against getting new tyres especially if it's a safety issue. And I know that weak sidewalls can balloon and burst.
So what's the question?
Can a tyre get so extensively damaged so fast??? (FYI, it's a low profile tyre and it was fairly flat.) I just want to know for my own knowledge just in case the shop is being cheeky.
