MGF hood catch receivers

Hi All I hadn,t notice this before on my MGF , maybe due to since i,ve bought it the rain hasn,t stopped until now ! I have the paint on the end of the hood catch receivers all chipped off , is this something that happens , as i know the hood is secured useing them ? anyone got any ideas ?
