Speedo flickering - sensor issue?

Hi all,



I had my car sorted by MG Mobile Mechanics in Derby and they did a great job of doing everything from replacing the bottom end of the 160 engine, clutch, plumbing and now the car runs really well!



My only issue is that the speedo is now flickering up and down similar to this video from (I think) spaceoctagon on here: http://ift.tt/1gBmGB6



Now mine isn't as bad as doing it with revs, but when am at speed it doesn't seem to stay at the correct speed for very long before dropping to 0. As a result the power steering is either very light or very heavy. So ends up being a bit worrying. I picked the car up on Friday and driven it maybe twice as this needs sorting.



Any ideas on what I could try? Spaceoctagon mentioned in the video it was a loose earth wire. Others have said while searching there is a sensor on the gearbox that could have gone bad.



Anything I can do without having to get it to a garage?
