T300 fun
Just had forum member jamesdoc around to plug in his magic T300 and we had an electronic poke around my F's internal workings. Very interesting stuff and aside from finding a few sensor error codes, the main reason for his visit was to reprogram some 2nd-hand fobs I'd picked up. Since owning this car I've only one key and fob so have always been paranoid about closing my keys in the boot or losing them altogether. It took James literally a few seconds to re-program each fob so I now have 3 fobs that work and will get a key cut at the local Mr Minute as soon as I can arrange it. The T300 also revealed my emergency entry code so I now know that as well - a very handy thing to know. There is so much information out there about whether these things work with cars of my vintage I was hesitant about shelling out for one but it is good to know it does work and I can read error codes and all manner of other information.
For those wondering whether the T300 is worth the sticker price I would say it most definitely is and even better, if you know someone with one (and the all-important cable to connect it) then it is well worth the price of a few cold beverages to get them around for some probing hijinks.
Thanks James, really appreciate it.
