Temperature Gauge Problem

My temperature gauge on my 1997 Rover 216 bubble drops when under heavy acceleration. It had a new thermostat and housing fitted yesterday, inlet manifold gasket, coolant, and has been bled correctly. Heaters get nice and hot too. The radiator fan also works as it should.



What could be causing it? I'm at a brick wall now.
