A-pillar micro-tweeters?

I found the below in a scrappy MGF in the corners of the dashboard - I assume they are micro-tweeters? I would guess they would have more effect higher up the A-pillars?



If they were to be fitted I'm guessing they will need a cross-over fitted? (or take a feed from the existing tweeters?)
