Alternator bolt vs heat shield
Just a heads up if you're thinking of changing your alternator.
My manual tells me to remove the two large bolts and loosen off the 8mm adjuster bolt. Then 'remove alternator'.
However, there was no way the top bolt was going to clear the heat shield.
Eventually after a lot of pulling and twisting, I decided to remove the heatshield.
I was avoiding it because I was certain at least one of the three bolts holding it on would not undo. However I was wrong and it popped off no problem giving clearance for the top alternator bolt and the job was a good 'un.
A bit trivial I know but it's another little bit of education I've been given and would like to share.
