Changed my own cam belt!
Yep, for some of you it might be a complete doddle, but for someone like me, with barely any mechanical knowledge and even less patience, it was quite an achievement
to give you an idea of how mechanically inept iam lemmie go through some of the things i learned
1: you have to support the engine from the bottom before removing the engine mount
2: the bottom pulley requires 1000 men to undo
3: a cam locking tool would have made the job many times easier as sprockets do not want to stay where they are
4: timing marks lie to me
5: the idler tightens anticlockwise
6: everything surrounding the cam belt is very sharp
7: i hate the power steering belt, and everything it attaches to
having said all this though, a totally hopeless person with no patience at all, managed (with some assistance of undooing the bolts and the power steering idler) managed to replace a timing belt without totally destroying an engine
and i was only 2 teeth out too lmao
