Dripping coolant .... but where from?

OK t'is official I must be totally stark raving bonkers.

Saw an interesting Mk1 VVC on the Bay so set it to watch list and it was not going up much. Listed as having HGF and losing coolant so not drivable.

So me being me put a silly bid in and won ................................... whoops did not expect that. Now had to inform the chancellor and get the non drivable car the 153 miles home. It starts but it is losing coolant and it can be seen dripping under the car from the front area of the engine. A bit of investigation revealed this as the likely source:-

Dipstick has some mayo spots on it but oil is still clear. No mayo in either oil cap but there should not be that crusty pink stuff around that hose and down that plastic bit surely?

Did not have long to investigate this afternoon it only just having been dropped off so will be having a better look weather permitting tomorrow. This is the beastie:-

Complete with front trophy spoiler and working fogs.

Mild steel after market exhaust box is surprisingly sporty in sound.

Silver Roll Hoops

Silver trim bits, some damaged.

Factory mud flaps

Cone filter with an attempt at cold sir feed. resonator box already removed.

Black air scoops

So even allowing for the delivery costs it's worth more for some of the goodies. MOT's until September too.

Now just to to trace and cure this leak........................... then get onto the usual things like dry out pasenger footwell and fix the leak. Get fan speeds 1 & 2 working and sort outt eh passenger door lock so it works from the Fob. Oh and yes get another key and fob.
