New Bilsteins ha ha
When i bought these i thought they would be a straight replacement for my current 'comfort' factory shocks. But nope!
Turns out my car (MY2005) is likely to be one of the few selected for the 'installation testing' of an uprated suspension for the mexican export market, a bespoke design due to their awful roads. The suspension items were supposed to have been removed and replaced with UK units before being released onto the UK market, but hey ho, it seems that mine weren't changed over...
Thank goodness for a great mechanic and the tremendous commitment and help of the guys at VHS who between them have hopefully sorted the problem with a new set of fixings for the Bilsteins. And the fitting of the Bilsteins should still be an improvement handling wise over the Mexican kit. Phew!
Interesting that Rover released one of their cars to one of their managers (the first owner) that was unservicable!
