The time has come.......
I think I'm going to have to say a sad farewell to my aged 180; she has developed a worrying bottom end rattle at around 2.5k revs when not under load, reminiscent of similar noises I had with a zetec engine that eventually chewed it's own crankshaft bearings....
The good news is that I still have the other two ZTs (although one still needs a clutch) and have just acquired another 180+ so all is well in that direction.
The question I have for you guys is:
Do I try and sell my old one as a going concern, bearing in mind 227,300 miles on the clock, tappet rattle unless absolutely brimmed with oil, and possible bottom end problems, or do I send her to the big scrapyard in the sky? I think in all fairness she's served her time well!!
Any suggestions?
