75 CDTi instead of a Fiesta

Hi all.

After 5 years my wife decided she was fed up driving our 1999 Land Rover Defender 300tdi, to and from work. Also having a snapped handbrake cable for 3weeks and now a fluid leak on the power steering must probably have helped her decision. So we decided we would quickly get a cheap run-around, get the defender off road and repaired, and sell both and get her a decent car. Well maybe not sell the defender!

Anyway, we went to a local auction house a week ago with a view of spending £1000 on a fiesta or focus type car, but we came away with an 04 Rover 75 CDTi SE connoisseur. It had a new MOT just 3 days earlier with no advisories, 105,000mls, been serviced in the 1st or 2nd week of February every year since new, with every stamp and receipt. The car is spotless, inside and out. In fact I have yet to find something that isn’t just fine.

But there is going to be a catch, surely someone wouldn't sell something so nice at auction.

So, give me a few weeks and I will be back asking advice on how too!

I am getting a T4 diagnostics carried out tomorrow, as the fan comes on and off even with a cold engine.

Oh and the airbag light is on, but i have yet to check connections under the seats.
