Insurance for Multiple Cars, Mirrored NCD
There is a real possibility I'm going to being running 3 cars soon, this must be the same with others on here. Can I ask how is everyone dealing with their insurance in this situation?
Currently I have a 2000 1.8 MGF, used occasionally in summer. Garaged.
A 2003 2.0 Hyundai Coupe, Daily driver although considering selling this or retiring it to occasional motorway work and considering buying a cheap smart or a low mile Ka/Lupo and using it as a local/weekend run-around.
Age 32 with 8 NCD, F is in a garage, others would be on the driveway, live in a relatively nice area. I do have 2 convictions with 6 points in the last 2 years. 70 in a 50 on the motorway and using a mobile phone.
I would also consider adding my girlfriend (33, 16 years of driving, no points) and father (60, 40 years of driving, no points) to the policy.
What would be my options? Am I worth moving the MGF to some sort of specialty provider? I'm currently on an Admiral Multi-car policy but I didn't realise they don't mirror NCD across all the cars which to be honest is a truly shocking rack amongst the insurers, as some do, some don't and it makes a huge discount and don't get me started on NC protection.
The whole thing is confusing and time consuming and the comparison websites although offering me with good prices seem to be basing these on the use of my NCD on the one car.
