Manual to Steptronic

I know this is not strictly MGF but you guys are about the most knowledgable on the forum & I am running a MGF subframe, engine/gearbox.



I fancy modding the buggy & making it into an auto, I searched & found a few posts where people have gone auto to manual but none the other way around. Apart from the TF & the 25 what other models had them fitted? Some posts mention replacing the ECU, is the gearbox & engine ECU combined or are they separate units? Are they all steptronics the same, or do I really need a TF one to replace the PG1 & finally for now is the subframe the same, just different mounting?
