Changed oil, very tappety!

I've just change the oil on my 135tf for some semi-syn 10-w40. It had a slight tappet noise when cold but after the oil change it sounds quite noisy around 1,500 rpm even when hot. Tried adding some wynns lifter treatment and can't say its helped. I did use a MGF filter but its the same for the TF? Wondered if this could be starving the top end of oil if its incorrect?
