Shafted
After cleaning my original shafts.. And merrily fitting brand new CV joints each end.. I finally got round to fitting the long shaft yesterday..
Tight fit.. But finally got it seated in the box.. Re-assembled the hub.. Copper greasing everything.. Stub axle nut on.. Bingo jobs 'a gooden '
Car sat back on its wheels.. And then noticed the shaft is pulling at the gear box end.. Like it's too short..
Can't be.. Weird.. Head scratching.. Measuring..
Light bulb moment.. The shaft was original to my car.. Which was CVT.. Argh!
So somewhere I have a pair of manual shafts which I need to find and build the long arm again..
Doh doh doh!
Anyone know if the short arms are different on the CVT and manual?
