Circuit board

I recieved an email in reply to a question i asked about a tf for sale the reply was as follows(

Hello, it's a 1.8

Body work is in great condition

The gearbox problem is either the circuit board £150

Or the clutch £400 fitted )

What circuit board is he refering to as for the life of me i cant think what this would have to do with a gearbox, car is manual so rules out the automatic route
