collapsed hose

I noted today that the big water hose above the radiator had collapsed and the water level in the expansion tank was high ...I undone the filler cap and the level went down and the hose refilled ..there are no leaks no overheating probs the head gasket was done about 9.000 mls ago and the expansion holds pressure and apart from the odd water top up there are no problems ...any ideas ??
