Engine Warning Light Flashing

ZT T 1.8T 2004 MANUAL



Have had the dreaded flashing engine warning light and the message "check engine" - on both occasions the light only flashed for 5 seconds - before the light came on I had my foot to the floor in low gear and racing up the revs- must be said there was a noticable series of "bumps" as if the turbo was not engaging properly. Once the car had reached speed everything fine and ran normally ie not in safe mode. And when I move up to speed gradually no problems are evident. Everything else fine exhaust is normal .



Any ideas anyone?
