Engine oil

Hi folks



Last few time ive been out to the mg tf 135 there has been a tap for about 5 seconds then it stops im thinking sticking tappet..



My question is will this damage the engine at all? I will be asking russell if he can do a service in the next few months so thought i might just do a quick oil and filter change myself to tide it over for now with a cheaper oil than the magnatec i use on a "proper" oil change as it won't be in the car more than a few months!



I have seen Triple QX oil quite cheap, is it ok or should i avoid?
