Jiggle valve problems?

Hello

I am having real issues with my MGF overheating, usually after a high speed run and then slowing down. It overheated a couple of days ago so I pulled over and got the Mrs to pick me up as I was not far away. Opened the boot and the cap was hissing, the expansion tank had boiling coolant in and I could hear what I think is a stuck jiggle valve. Like a metal on metal tapping noise coming from by the inlet manifold. After a couple of minutes there was a massive gush of coolant going back into the expansion tank!!

Obviously this isn't normal but only really happens when im driving a bit harder. I think the jiggle valve is getting stuck. My coolant pipes under the car are in really bad condition so im just about to order some stainless steel ones. The pipes on the car at the moment are rusting inside so I was wondering if the rust is getting into the water and blocking the jiggle valve? This is what I think. What do other people think?

Ive already flushed it out twice. I have used Holts speedflush the last time and that solved the problem for a couple of months. Now its back!!
