PRT Or Not PRT That Is The Question

Guys

I was wondering if there is an advantage to be gained. Having just replaced my Thermostat and Housing and the issues in getting to it. Intake Manifold, Coolant Pipes, I started to think about HGF etc.

Roger Parker in his book talks about changing from a standard thermostat to a PRT.

My "F" is a 1991 MK1.5 and for the last 15 yrs.' its managed with a std one but ahs blown 2 head gaskets first at 35k mikes second at 78k miles and the car has done 125k now. Could I be looking at the inevitable.

The car is maintained meticulously, coolant monitored and changed, SS Pipes, new rad, lo-larm etc but still I get concerned. For those that have done this, be honest guys, is it worth it do you sleep any better or is it just one of those things we do.

And how have you fitted one. At the front near the rad or at the back.

Thanks for any comments
