Gear Knob

For any owners who havent yet replaced their MG6 gear knob, I would recommend you do so.



I have read on many occasions owners complaining of knotchy gear change, or difficulty changing gear



I know in some cases MG Motor have sanctioned the newer 'heavier' gear knob replacement from dealer



I have never had any issues changing gear, but always feels clumpy as I move the gear leaver, with a horrible plasticy sound as the gear is selected



I wanted to test the theory that a weighted gear knob would improve the gear change, so I bought a cheapy heavy duty aluminium gear knob from eBay. Fitted it yesterday. OMG what a difference. Smooth, slick gear change with no noise.



The nasty plastic gear knob I removed is hollow, with no weight what so ever.



Now I have proved for my self a heavy gear knob improves gear change I will order a more expensive quality item
