IPK swap questions.
I have purchased an IPK with message centre and indicator stalk which I want to fit to in place of my current unit (no message centre).
I have read through dozens of threads but have been left totally confused.
My idea is to put my current EPROM into the newly acquired unit.
If I do the above I know I will need the EPROM programming for the message centre to activate, can I do this with the BMW 1.4.0 scanner?
OR, if I do the EPROM swap and fit the unit will it be OK until I can somehow get to a T4?
Failing all the above I could fit a new EPROM to the new unit and wait for next UK trip to have it programmed, I know I could not fit it to the car before programming because of the miles I would travel.
The existing unit is from a MK1 2002 1.8 auto, the new unit a MK2 1.8T
Simple answers please as I am brain dead from reading all the threads I have found
