MG ZR / Rover Bubble Lowering Springs
For Sale. A set of Rover 200 BRM springs.
For those that don't know, the Rover 200 BRM was the lowest of all the MG/Rover R3 based cars. It's approximately 20mm lower (all round) than an MG ZR, i.e. the same ride height as X-power Eibach springs. Confirmation of the ride heights can be checked in the official workshop manual if you have a copy.
In terms of stiffness the BRM springs are half way between the Rover 25 and the MG ZR. I've had the springs rates for the BRM confirmed in January when several BRM forum members met a chap who helped developed the Rover BRM suspension. The spring rates are detailed below.
Front:
Rover 25(ex Gti), 25 N/mm
Rover 25 Gti, 26 N/mm
Rover 200 BRM, 31 N/mm
MG ZR (all), 36 N/mm
Rear:
Rover 25 (all), 21 N/mm
Rover 200 BRM, 26 N/mm
MG ZR (all), 30 N/mm
I've have used these springs on MG ZR dampers, so there are no issues there. I can picture them fitted if needed.
They are suitable for petrol models only. Using them on a diesel is probably not recommend.
The springs are in good condition and getting rare now. I'm looking for £60 o.n.o. + postage. Collection is welcome from CW9.
I will post up some pictures this evening.
