Following last months uncamouflaged spyshots, the new MG5 saloon has hit the Chinese press, this time with a new name the MG GT.
The Chinese reports state the car has emerged from the Longbridge factory and the pictures certainly seem to suggest the cars are indeed in the UK, seemingly at Cofton Park, adjacent to plant itself.
Based on the 5 hatchback, the new car features a revised front bumper and grille design as well as a new rear end. The alloys are 16″ items, while the GTs grille design is set to be replicated on the upcoming MG CS SUV as well as the facelifted MG6.
Reports suggest the GT will be offered with three petrol engines, a 1.5 as offered in the MG3, a 1.5 turbo and a new 1.4 turbo.
Its expected to go on sale in China in September, with no word on a UK launch.
