Transmission oil seal

Wife's car a 25 (03 reg) - 1.4 petrol - has an oil leak from the drive shaft on the left hand side.(passenger) Where it enters the gearbox. How do I establish which type of seal is required as there seems a lot of confusion. I assume the oil is MTF 94 (Multigrade?) Any advise most welcome and many thanks
