Thermostat? (was poss HGF)

Just in case there are more responses to a thermostat question than a HGF one!



Ran her for about 45 minutes last night and all seemed well, so I tried taking her to work this morning. Imagine my surprise when she got all hot and bothered again!



She got up to about 95 degrees and then dropped back to 90 as expected, but then every time the temp went up it got slightly higher before dropping back down again. The stat is obviously opening and closing, but could it be partially seized? I turned around when it hit 100 (after about 6 miles), and by the time I got home it had peaked at 116.



Is it worth swapping the PRT just in case?



There seem to be 2 available with the same part number, one rated at 82 degrees, and one at 87 degrees - I believe the 87 is the one for the 1.8 turbo.
