Coolant loss..... where???
Just checked the coolant level on the recently acquired Rover 45 1.6l and had to top it it up with a LOT of coolant .................................... but cannot find the source of the loss/leak.
Have just ordered Red OAT concentrate as we are going to replace the radiator as it's losing it's fins and the A/C pump is being swapped as well. Might as well do the lot in once go....................................... but the coolant was only just visible in the very bottom of of the expansion tank.
Now she runs very rough on tick over and does not start as well as she should but runs fine once revs are above about 1600 RPM. Just before we got her she had a new cm belt and water pump fitted although we do not have a copy of the invoice for this yet but looking at the top of the belt it in new. There is not excessive smoke or steam on start up and when running so where to start looking.
Oh yes the heater works fine!!!
Have just fitted two new plug leads and a set of NGK plugs air filter is on it's way.
No mayo in sight and oil is clear and at correct level................................. tis a puzzlement as the King said.
