Trophy for sale!
The time has come to once again part company with an MG! This time it's my yellow trophy which I've had for about 8 months but only done 500 miles. I've just bought a Merc SLK32 AMG, so have no need for the trophy. 2 months ago the cambelts, waterpump and tensioner were changed by Dan of MG/Rover Mobile Mechanics and all other servicing is up to date. The other usual niggles have been sorted and the only real mod is the servo bracket and TF snorkel.
You might have already seen it on ebay, and here's the advert:

It's the cheapest trophy I can see which actually has the bits which make it a trophy! No rush to sell, it's currently happy sitting in the garage!

For sale is my 2001 MGF Trophy. Bright yellow so you'll never lose it in the carpark! I've owned it for around 8 months and have travelled approximately 500 miles in that time, with it spending the majority of its time in the garage. The reason i'm selling is that as much as i try to convince myself having 2 cars is a good idea, it's really not when i drive less than 4000 miles a year!
I bought it with the intention of keeping it, and as such i've spent a fair bit bringing it up the the standard it should have been, sorting out as many niggles as i could and making sure the servicing was up to date. Service wise all the main bits have been completed in the past 500 miles including Oil & Filter, Air filter (Returned to standard airbox from the open-cone it came fitted with), Fuel filter, Spark plugs, HT leads, Brake fluid, Clutch fluid and more recently Cambelt, tensioner and waterpump.
Mechanically it's working and driving fine. The oil and coolant both maintain a steady temperature and the fans come on as they should. After the suspension work for the MOT it had 4 wheel alignment carried out. Apart from the work since i've had the car there isn't a lot of service history. Only thing of note is a receipt from Jan 2013 for a new front offside wishbone, a rear offside Hydragas sphere and a replacement cam cover gasket. It also had the suspension pumped up at this time.
Bodywise the car looks good. It's not perfect and there are the usual marks and blemishes of a car of this age and price. It's not in concourse condition, but it's not bad. The pictures show all the main issues, the worst of which is a dent to the offside rear sill where it looks like somone didn't jack the car in the correct place. There are a couple of paint scabs on the boot, the most obvious one below the nearside rear light. There is a small spot on the offside front wing which looks to have been touched up and another above the windscreen.
The interior is in good condition, though there are some marks on the yellow parts. All the electric items work as they should. It does have a Rover Zero exterior temperature warning, but this doesn't seem to work correctly as it always displayed the red ice warning whatever the conditions so the fuse has been taken out.

Car is located in Sheffield around 1 mile from the train station. You are welcome to view the car before buying. The price it sells for is the only price i will accept. I've tried to be as detailed as i can in description and pictures. I won't negotiate on price when you collect. If you're not sure it's worth it come and view it first. The car is currently SORNed with the tax having expired at the end of June. I can tax for the buyer at their cost, though this will need to be paid for in advance. If not the Post office is around 1.5 miles away. The V5 is present and in my name and at my address where the car will be collected from. Payment will be by cash on collection.
Please ask any questions before you buy!
