Rover 75 2.5 2001 Auto Connoisseur Gearbox problem
Hi everyone,
I have recently experienced a problem with my Rover 75 which is the following model:
Rover 75 2.5 2001 Auto Connoisseur
The problem is that when you first get in the car, start the engine and put the car in drive, the gearbox appears to make a lot of noise?
If you take it out of drive and just let it run on its own for about 5 minutes and then put it back in drive again, the noise appears to be completely gone. It is then really quiet. The car also pulls away quietly.
The auto box does not appear to make any noise if it is in reverse gear when you first start the car.
Does anyone have any idea of what could be causing this and what things would be best to try in trying to find a remedy for the problem?
Does this sound like a terminal problem or a serious fault?
For what it's worth the automatic oil has been changed recently and the car has only done 59,000 miles so far.
Any advice or help would be very gratefully appreciated as I am tearing my remaining hair out with this as it's driving me up the wall.
Many thanks in advance, and I look forward to reading your ideas and suggestions.
Best regards
Mick.
