Knocking sound when braking

Hi i have a MG ZR 1.4 K-Series Hatchback. whenever i brake to a stop i can here whats sounds like knocking on the left side of the car. When it rains and drive the car the noise stops till i get a dry day then starts again. does it need pads changing or disks changed? mabey some other issue.
