O/T Ipods n shizzle

Does anyone use an ipod plugged in via usb to their head unit ?

I have a jvc KD-R841BT , all lights n whistles etc and has 2 usb outlets. The problem I have is that every now n then music regardless of what track has a habit of hic-cupping/skipping/jumping for a nano second . I don't know why it does it just wondered if anybody else has the same issue . I've sent a polite email to JVC but no reply ( figures ). Connecting via the headphone socket to the Aux is fine . Maybe an issue with charging whilst playing ? The lead is a proper Apple Lead btw.
