Coolant Leak! Please help

Got someone to fit my downpipe from the manifold today and while he was fitting it said something is leaking. I mention to him about the coolant had been dropping and he said that is what it seems to be. Now im just wondering what it could be. On my dashboard the temp gauge stays at half way near enough all the time (don't think that is normal)
