Second key doesn't work on remote central locking

Hi all



I've got the MGZTT 1.9 diesel and my three year old (when he was 18 months) ran away with the primary key and I've not seen that since. It used to work the CL just fine.



The spare works the locks and alarm fine but despite a battery change (wasn't working before that either) does not operate the central locking.



I've tried pressing buttons when it's in the ignition to attempt to get it to be recognised but that doesn't work either.



Does anybody have some further ideas here?
