Rattle Can Tonneau
With my birthday coming up, for a gift I enquired about the cost of a custom tonneau, in blue with my silver and red stripe incorporated. £400 !! No thanks, not when it has virtually no re-sale value to any other car...
So I have a spare black tonneau, having purchased a beige one to match the hood interior, and against all the advice I could find on the internet, I decided to take a big gamble and take to it with some rattle cans. This is an Experiment !!
Primer, 3 cans of pearlescent Tahiti Blue, silver alloy paint, and Ford red, and it's out drying in the niceish weather.
Not put it on the car yet, but it looks great, with a real candy blue finish. Really hope it lasts, but kinda expect it to crack away at some point. It will only get light use, I can never be bothered putting the tonneau on tbh.
Again - fully expect failure here. Just sharing attempt !!
Will post picture on the car when it's ready to fit.
Primer & 2 coats blue...
To match this...
Finished (bar a few touch ups on the lines)...
