ZS or 25??

I own a clean R25, new belts and HG about 5k miles ago (before ownership). I have the dilemma of straight swapping for a ZS which is also very clean but needs a clutch. there was steam coming from the Oil filler cap and a manky coolant bottle. The engine was changed last year as it blew but im wondering if this is worth the swap.
My 25 has possible sticking valves (stalling when cold) and a few electrical issues. Part of me says the filth could be left over from the last HGF on the ZS and the other says the present one is gone although no overheating.
