2001 MG ZS 1.8 120 Fuel pump not priming

Please help me guys..



Was due to go on holiday tomorrow but my car has said no!!!!



issues are as follows



Had noticed fuel pump on a couple of occasions has not primed but this has been when engine has been run for a while before hand and not stood that long. Still started after slightly longer cranking time



Friday night after being left all day would not start, no priming from fuel pump.. After a few turns to position 2 and back with key and locking and unlocking car it primed and started and then run fine until this morning.. It just wont start and the fuel pump is not priming..



Things I have tried..



After reading a few forums the following things have been tried but so far to no avail



Tried pushing inertia switch but this did not seem to click or activate and has not solved issue.



have tried wiggling, unplugging and reseating fuel pump relay but this has not helped



disconnected battery for a while to see if it would reset anything



tried putting more fuel in just in case fuel pump not picking fuel up well, it was above red line and no light showing but relatively low.



So. desperate for ideas as to what to try next has it seems holiday is off if I cant fix it. Willing to try any ideas has really don't want to give my holiday money to a garage !!
