Noisy fan belt - when wet

My MGF has an intermittent screeching fan belt when wet - is there a cure? I can live with it as it is not constant but keen to see if there is anything I can do. Doesn't do it when dry so I suppose the simple answer is not to use the car when raining!!!



Had a similar problem with a Ford Focus in wet/cold weather and, despite some attention at each service, never really got any better so just wondered if this is a typical MGF trait?
