ZS not starting well...not sure why?
Hi,
I bought the car (180, mk1) a couple of months ago. It ran great, and started strongly immediately after the ignition was turned.
I then did the thermostat change (including all 3 manifolds off) and had the injectors cleaned at the same time. Now since it is all back together, I now find it does not want to start straight away.
Basically, the following happens: turn the key to position2 and the fuel pump primes (well, I assume it is), I wait for this to finish (about 2-3 secs) before starting. Whereas before the thermostat change, it would fire up virtually immediately, and go straight to fast idle, now it cranks for maybe 3-5 seconds before trying to fire up. It catches, but has really low revs (virtually stalling) before then jumping to fast idle. It then runs perfectly.
Clearly I must have done something or upset something that is having an impact on the firing up. Any suggestions as to what I could have done or what is causing the issue?
At the same time as the thermostat change, I also put on an inner wing induction set up, small catch tank and replaced the upper inlet manifold with a replacement unit off a ZT. Not sure if any of this is important?
Any suggestions greatly received! Thanks!
