Boot Mounted Warning Triangle - Alternative

Some of you will be aware that the MGF came with an option of a Warning triangle mounted to the bootlid. Part number KCC 100080.

These are not available anymore yet are handy I think. However I thought that this must be on other cars and yes it is . I bought one off Ebay said to be for a VW Bora, Skoda Superb, Passat built between 2000-2005.

The Kit comes with a plastic mount and two self tapping screws. The image in the MGF catalogue is not an advisable way to mount the triangle as it is upside down and likely to unfold.

The next pic shows it partly unfolded

All you need to do is get it level and so it won't come into conflict with the rubber boot seal and drill two 4mm holes after marking them up level, screw in the self tappers and bracket is sorted

Add triangle twist to lock and that's it

Here is a pic to show how slim it is in the boot. It can take a bit of stick too and pressure as I tried it!

That's it! No need to search for that elusive part.
