Need some advice

Took my mg tf for its 30k B service today and also for an mg specialist in Northampton to check my slow coolant loss issue.



No signs of visible leaks, check all suspect places .



Garage has advised they could not find any traces of the leak and have said the head gasket will need doing at a cost of £600.



Does this sound right coming from an mg specialist?



Seems a bit expensive considering I can use the mobile mechanics for half the price
