Best way to blank a VVC Vac Line / Replace Hose

I've removed the line that goes to the exhaust valve and just now it just a lenth of hose with a screw through it. The other hose (small piece 2-3") which connects further down is looking a little perished so I'd like to replace that also.



Whats the best way to blank? Have seen some folk screw into it but I'd worry something would break / sheer. I'm thinking of getting a small T piece and running from both into that. Has anyone got any recommendations for what type of hose to replace it with?
