Low throttle response

Hello,

I would appreciate your advice on the problem I have with my 1998 MGF Mpi.

Sometime ago the throttle response on acceleration gradually became low. I could realize this more on low revs.

The diagnostics check does not show any fault. My mechanic checked several things and finally found out that the fuel pressure was low on acceleration, so he suggested that the problem was on the fuel pump. So he replaced the fuel pump and the first couple of days the car was running fine, however right after the problem started again.

Initially, we suspected it was bad fuel so I ran the car filling the tank with vpower and Redex. We checked catalyst and exhaust and they are in good condition. Fuel filter is 10 month old and also spark plugs and cables. The car has not any problem with overheating.

The car has a 52mm throttle body, K&N panel filter and cold air intake on the LH side.
