Sold R45
Well fellow Roverians I have just sold my R45 iL after 14 very good years from new, 104,000, never missed a beat. Damn good car.
I advertised it on Gumtree (didn't get many emails, usual cheap cranks, but two of interest, fellow Rover owners).
Advertised it in local paper, one caller, but I had price too high following advice from two salesmen ( there is a moral there some where).
Made up some postcards and stuck them in shops with free notice boards for such things. A quick sale from the one in the local shop.
Young chap who had had two Rovers was made up with the condition and FSH I gave him plus many photos once he made email contact.
A good result for both of us. £550, 14 years old in November. Midway between Glass's guide Private sales. But it was spotless inside and out and under the bonnet and had been kept that all its life.
Now I am emigrating to the Mazda6 derv Forum. Thanks for all your help over the last 12 years, hope I have helped others along the way.
If anything I have learned is " Maintain & Maintain" Change the oil & Filter at each service, use a good quality oil ( I used Castrol Magnetec 10/40 Semi Syn), do not run below a quarter tank of diesel, and leave the EGR in service.:):unionflag:
